Double recognition for Blaze with awards nominations

Laurencekirk-based Blaze Manufacturing Solutions has started 2018 with two prestigious business awards shortlistings.

Blaze will contend the SPE Aberdeen Offshore Achievement Awards in the Great Company (SME) category in March at a ceremony being held in the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. The awards recognise and celebrate innovation and collaboration in the oil, gas and renewables industry and are the biggest and longest established industry awards for the UK offshore energy sector.

Blaze has also been shortlisted for two awards in the FSB Small Business of the Year Awards in the Family Business of the Year and Triumph Over Adversity categories. The awards showcase the best small businesses throughout the UK and promote innovation and enterprise in small business. The ceremony will be held in the Playfair Library, Edinburgh on the 23 January.

Blaze was established in 2006, providing fire safety solutions to the oil and gas, renewables, mining, commercial and industrial sectors. This involves all aspects from front end definition of concepts, detailed design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintaining of active fire extinguishing systems and fire alarm systems both in the UK and internationally. Blaze employs 35 people across the North-East and has a contracting team of up to a further 30 people working across the globe.

Managing Director Howard Johnson said, “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards.

“Blaze is team-effort and so the recognition deserves to go to our staff and contracting teams who have helped us to grow over the past twelve years.

“Blaze will continue to believe in and develop our people and we will never stop innovating and challenging the norm in our industry.”
